Sarah Webb/Bolgi from Mongolia
(Image 1 of 2)

This drawing was done from a picture of a girl named Bolgi from Mongolia. It was from one of those prayer journals. Her story is sad: she had heart problems, so Samaritan's Purse took her in and treated her condition. She was doing fine, but then one day her heart just stopped pumping and she died without cause. She was so pretty that I just had to draw her, and here she is.

This is a cell-phone picture of my friends Kira and Elizabeth. They unwittingly took it during a chorus class, while we were waiting for the drama people to get off of our stage. Little did they know that I would find it on Facebook and surprise them with it. It took me one evening of focus, somewhere between 2 and 4 hours (I tend to lose track of time while doing this sort of thing). I really enjoy drawing peoples' portraits. My goal is to capture the person on paper so that when they look at it they don’t see someone who just looks similar, but who feels similar as well.
