Andrew Lee, the Sports Editor here at TCP, says of himself, “I have a nasty knack for busting headphones, [heart] mangos, and have recently become dependent on a cell phone as a schedule and the only alarm which can seem to wake me up. Sleep is terrific, and next to my computer I have a fuzzy goat, polar bear, two wooden katanas, a light saber, three wooden block puzzles, as well as a Lewis structure drawing of caffeine.” This pretty much sums up the random side of the guy who has turned a small, struggling Sports section into a booming machine of athletic and extracurricular reporting.

Andrew--or “Fuzzy,” as he is sometimes referred to by his friends because of his hair--has been involved with TPS for six years and TCP for four. As a student with The Potter’s School, he says, “it’s been cool to get to know a bunch of fellow classmates from just about everywhere,” and that his experiences with other TPSers has made him “more aware of the realism of what you hear going on around the world.” In the six years he’s been a student, Andrew has taken a total of 16 classes which range from Chemistry to Computer Programming to Chess.

As a member of the Cracked Pot staff for four years and the Sports Editor for three, Andrew has done an amazing job of turning the Sports section into a great part of the entire e-zine. Of his part in this, he says, “the majority of my work has been building up the Sports section towards becoming a consistently functional part of TCP. My first year, I had no reporters, so I ended up writing all the sports articles, but at least there was a Sports section.” Since that first year, the Sports section has grown to the point where it now is a major part of TCP. Andrew says that his favorite thing about TCP is “the network of committed people from across the globe. My fellow editors over the past three years are definitely at the forefront because of all the hard work I’m aware of them putting in to make everything work, amid all the other pursuits in their lives.”

Aside from all the time that he spends as a TPS student and the oh-so-fantastic Sports Editor, Andrew does, in fact, pursue other things, as well. His two major extracurricular activities are, simply put, Music and Boy Scouts. He has been involved in Boy Scouts since the 2nd grade and got his Eagle Scout in 9th grade. Since that time, he’s been involved in several places of leadership both within his own council and on a national level. A violinist since 1st grade, Andrew has been involved in orchestra, chamber groups, and other areas. In the last school year alone, he performed 33 times, and, he says, this year it looks to be about the same.

Apart from his serious pursuits, Andrew says he enjoys “anime, manga, tennis, fencing, video editing, and website design.” All in all, Andrew Lee puts forth an amazing effort in all areas of his life, whether with TCP, his music, or just in his hobbies. Two words he would use to describe himself are “Christian” and “nerd.”
