Polka Dot Ornaments

Supplies:

§      Clear, glass ball ornaments

§      Christmasy acrylic paint

§      Paint brush

§      Christmasy ribbon

§      empty egg carton


Instructions:

§      Turn the empty egg carton upside down. This will serve as your stand as you decorate.

§      Place ornament upside down on egg carton, resting it between egg cups.

§      Using the handle end of a paint brush, dip the end of the handle into paint then dot onto the ornament. You will need to re-dip after each dot.

§      Dot all around the ornament and let dry completely.

§      Once dry, tie a piece of ribbon through the hanger hook on the ornament.


Tips:

§      You can use clear glass ornaments for this easy project, or if you prefer, use frosted or colored bulbs, adjusting the paint color accordingly.

§      Glass ornaments are available in abundance at most stores that carry holiday decorations. You may even have some packed away in your Christmas boxes!

§      Change the size of the polka dots by using different sized paint brushes.


Christmas Cookie Bag

Supplies:

§      Paper lunch sack

§      Christmas-y acrylic paint

§      Paint brush

§      Christmas-y glitter glue

§      6-8” ribbon

§      Cookies


Instructions:

§      Open the lunch bag to make sure that none of the sides or ends are stuck together before you start. Close it back up.

§      Fold bottom of bag against itself so that it lies flat and is not folded upwards.

§      Use a hole punch or wooden skewer to make a small hole in the top center of the bag. (Later you will tie the bag shut with a ribbon.)

§      Paint ornaments on the front with the acrylic paint and decorate with glitter glue

§      Use glitter glue to write the word “cookies” at the top of the bag.

§      Use glitter glue to write the words “For ______” at the bottom of the bag. Let dry completely.

§      When bag is completely dry, fill with cookies and thread a piece of ribbon through the top hole. Tie in a bow.



Woodsy Star Ornament

      Supplies:

§      Five twigs (preferably dark) of roughly equal length

§      Hot glue gun (use caution when using)

§      Thin ribbon.

Instructions

§      Arrange the twigs so they form the basic, five pointed star

§      Carefully take the stick that is easiest to pick up and apply hot glue so that when you set it back down it will be glued to all of the sticks it touches.

§      Let dry

§      Repeat process until all of the sticks are glued together

§      Decide which point with be the top, and tie an eight inch ribbon around it.

§      Hang on ye olde Christmas tree!
