Joanna Griffith is a 17-year-old homeschooled junior living in Falcon, Colorado. One of her favorite Bible verses is Jeremiah 29:11: For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for wholeness and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Her goal is to live life to the fullest, seizing the opportunities God gives her and glorifying Him in all that she does. Joanna competes in the NCFCA homeschool speech and debate league, participating in Lincoln-Douglas debate and numerous speech events. At the 2006 national competition, she placed as one of the top 16 speakers in the nation in Impromptu Apologetics. She enjoys reading, writing, cooking, music, traveling, spending time with friends, public speaking, and living life to the fullest for the glory of God. Additionally, she teaches Latin for elementary-aged homeschool students and serves as a volunteer teen attorney for juvenile cases with a local Teen Court program. Her vision is to reach her generation with a message of hope and purpose, helping to equip them to make a difference now in service to God. After graduating from high-school, she hopes to attend college--likely majoring in political science or journalism. Some of her dream jobs are to intern on Capitol Hill, work in the White House, get married and have children, and become First Lady.
Emilie Lavallée was born in Ottawa, Canada, and lived in that area for thirteen years before moving along with her family to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, a country in the Middle East. The move brought her closer to her goal of traveling the globe and experiencing different cultures. Other than her parents, her family consists of an older brother away at university, a younger sister on TPS, another younger sister, and a younger brother. Within the realm of academics, her favourite subjects are literature, chemistry, human biology, and European history. This year, her third with TPS, she is taking Intro to Lit, Works of C.S. Lewis & J.R.R. Tolkien, Physics, and Anatomy & Physiology. Looking ahead, she hopes to study pre-medicine in university next year, pursue a medical degree, and become a missionary doctor in needy parts of the globe. She enjoys spending any time not spent on schoolworkalthough such times seem to be rarecurled up with a good book, either new or classic, or working on one of many stories forming in her head. Posting on the TPS Writing Critique threads and moderating two class forums, writing as a news reporter for The Cracked Pot, and e-mailing friends also occupy her spare moments. Unfortunately, living in the desert has curtailed her other favourite pastime of dancing in the rain and traipsing through the snow, but she makes up for it by daydreaming of thunderstorms and white Christmases. Other than improving the lives of people both physically and spiritually, her goals in life are to publish a novel and to find a plausible way to attain a British accent.

Taylor Strube came to the Potter's School in 2003 to take Mr. Hughes' physical science course. Though interested in science previously, Mr. Hughes' class served as an encouragement to him in learning more about science. This year being his junior year, he currently takes Dr. Kauk's Old Testament Survey, Dr. Lewicki's Advanced Chemistry, and Mrs. Troxell's Introduction to Literature. In spare time not taken up by school-related activities, he enjoys reading and writing poetry, watching the beautiful dragonfly species of his locality, studying and reading the Old Testament in its original language, training at a local Kenpo karate dojo, and practicing ballroom dance. For as long as he can remember, he has loved science for its precision, accuracy, and objectivity in explaining the unknown mysteries of nature. After taking Mrs. Rathbun's chemistry course last school year, he grew to love the science of chemistry, and he hopes to gain a greater understanding of this field this year under Dr. Lewicki before possibly pursuing a college education as a biochemist. As well as science, the principles and philosophy of organic agriculture have fascinated and intrigued him since before junior high, and he has read many books and articles on the subject. In the summer of 2004 and 2005, he ran a small experimental broiler raising operation to gain hands-on experience. It is his hope to finish his high-school education with The Potter's School next year before deciding what career to pursue.
