"Our Meager Offering"

By ChloeL

The Christmas tree is encircled with cord,

And the rush mat lays on the floor.

It’s all we have

To celebrate our Lord

Who gave us all the more

How is it

That we are alive in Him?

It’s because on this day,

He came in a manger

And we sing his hymn

We cherish in our hearts

This wondrous day,

And hope for his coming again

When we go to Heaven to stay

"The Night Was Heavy on the Fields"

By: Rebekah Curry

The night was heavy on the fields where watchful shepherds lay,

When suddenly they saw a light as bright as that of day;

An angel came with tidings good,

As wondering the shepherds stood:

"Jesus your King is born, Jesus is born, in excelsis gloria!"*

The shepherds heard the signs and went to see this wondrous thing;

Within a lowly manger slept a Child, but a King;

To worship Him they all knelt down,

Although His head yet bore no crown:

"Jesus your King is born, Jesus is born, in excelsis gloria!"*

They then went forth and told of this to all they met nearby,

While one great Star stood glittering within the darkened sky;

And so they gave to God their praise,

As they continued on their ways:

"Jesus your King is born, Jesus is born, in excelsis gloria!"*

*This one-line refrain is taken from lyrics originally written in the language of the Huron Indians by a Jesuit priest, the English translation being by J.E. Middleton. The tune is that of an old French carol.

"My Special Tree"

By: Anna-Maria Russo

My

Tree is

Special to me.

I have known it since

I was a child. My tree has

Been there for every Christmas.

I want to share this tree with you.

  I hope you like it just as much as I do.

My Christmas tree is special

To

 Me.
