Meet Ben Kinsley! He's an energetic, athletic kid from Vermont!

LR: Okay. So, how old are you and where do you live?

BenK: Williston, Vermont. I'm 15-- will be 16 in January.

LR: Cool. So, in a nutshell, what do you like to do?

BenK: Swim, talk with friends, and play online games.

LR: What are some of your favorite sports?

BenK: I like skiing, snowboarding, jogging (use it as cross-training for swimming), and swimming so hard that you can't breathe for the next two minutes.

LR: Neat! You like to swim! Are you part of a swim team, or something?

BenK: Yup. I'm on a swim team and I practice my swimming 8 times a week.

LR: Wow...that's a lot of swimming!  So, you guys compete and stuff like that?

BenK: Yes, we compete against teams from all over New England.

LR: Have you ever won a competition?

BenK: Only in local meets.

LibbyR: What's going on in school right now?

BenK: Collage essays, long assingments, and all-nighters.

LR: College essays? Wow. What are you having to write on this time? Anything interesting?

BenK: Right now, I'm writing about the North Korean Nuclear conflict, and I'm just finishing up a compare-and-contrast essay of Pi Pattel (from The Life of Pi) and Scout Finch from To Kill A Mockingbird.

LR:  Are you part of any co-op or homeschool group where you live?

BenK: Yes, there is a school group in my area, and I take advanced comp and physics with them.

LR: Is physics something that you are interested in doing? Or was it just required?

BenK: Yeah, I am interested in it. There is some really cool stuff that you can learn to do!

LibbyR: Like...?

BenK: You can drop and egg out of a second story window and keep it from breaking, with the help of a milk carton.

LR: Haha! Well, I'd say that was pretty cool! Are you thinking of studying this in college?

BenK: Not sure. I want to do something with engineering, but I'm not completely sure what yet...

LR: So, as far as personality goes... What are you like?

BenK: I like the military, so I try to model everything that I do after that. But, most of the time, I come across as nice guy who talks too much.

LR: Did you ever think of joining the military?

BenK: Yes, I do, but I'd rather not dedicate that much of my life to something like that.

LibbyR: Well, I know that you like paintball! Are you an expert at that?

BenK: Not quite an expert, at paintball at least, but I'm pretty good at airsoft. I can take on two or more people and still win.

LibbyR: And I know that you like Raquetball, too. Tell us about that.

BenK: I was rated in the top three for the Vermont Junior league two years ago. I still play occasionally at 5:00 in the morning, but I'm nowhere as good as I used to be.

LR: Did you play on a homeschool sports team or did the schools in the area have opportunities for you?

BenK: No, I played with friends and had a instructor at a local health club, one that I now work at.

LR: Play any other sports?

BenK: I have played soccer and baseball competetively on and off, and I play football with friends (like KyleH).

LibbyR: Do you do anything musical?

BenK: Not really. I have a guitar, but I don't have the time to learn how to play it.

LibbyR: And, of course, I know that you love LOTR!

BenK: ...and Pirates of the Carribean, and Black Hawk Down.

LibbyR: Very cool! Who are your favorite characters?

BenK: Aragorn and Jack Sparrow, of course!!

Wishing the best to Ben!
