I wrote this poem about the Holy Spirit for my Potters School english
class. It uses the style of William Blake's poem "The Lamb." I really
like this poem and I hope that you enjoy it as well.
Dove
Descending from above,
God sent you to the Son
A simple, lackluster dove
How could you be the one?
The Holy Spirit chose you,
A simple little dove
To represent his Spirit
And his mighty love
Such a simple, humble one
You are my little bird
You speak through me in a tongue
Your praise is not unheard
Now Jesus sent you
To guide and lead his Church
He truly loves you too
Let your heart be this doves perch.
