Since graduating from the University of Minnesota, Mr. Dungy has continually made a name for himself in football, first as a valuable safety for the Steelers during the Pittsburgh's "Steel Curtain" dynasty and then as the arguably most successful black coach in the National Football League. Yet, despite the accolades and recognition he has received as a professional football coach, Tony Dungy has shown an understanding that much goes on in life besides the game of football. Sports Spotlight - Running the Seattle Half-Marathon Sun, 01 Jan 2006 09:00:00 -0500 On November 27th Potter's School alumni and brothers Joshua Ryan, an 11th grade running start student, and Kyle Ryan, a freshman at Washington State University, participated in the annual Seattle Half-Marathon. Both ran in the 13.1 mile half-marathon, which ran through downtown Seattle. Sports Spotlight - Josh Wilke Sun, 01 Jan 2006 09:00:00 -0500 After the conclusion of eighth grade Potter's School student Josh Wilke, who lives near Seattle, Washington, decided that he wanted to attend the United States Naval Academy. To improve his chances of acceptance into the Naval Academy, which encourages participation in rigorous athletic activities, at the beginning of ninth grade Josh joined wrestling and football teams in Inglewood Junior High School.  |
