AnatomyPublished: Tue, 01 Nov 2005 10:00:00 -0500 Look at your arm. Now touch it. ALL the skin you have just touched is made up of dead cells waiting to be flaked away. All this and more have we learned in Human Anatomy class. Sometimes, you don't want to know. Anatomy class is interesting. There's really no better way to describe it. I'm finally taking a science class that I can relate to; after all, it is about the human body and I am, of course, a human. For instance, I now know not only that my outer ear is made of cartilage, I know what kind of cartilage it is made out of. Did you know that your bladder, when empty, is not much larger than your thumb? Did you know that nervous tissue cannot reproduce? It is simply amazing to study the infinitely intricate system God has created. Every minute detail is so precise and perfect--it's difficult to fathom why anyone would choose to think we exist by accident! Our teacher, Mrs. Wheeler has done an amazing job in making the human body come alive (I don't know if pun was intended there or not...) to the class. Classtime is far from boring--like my other classes here in Savannah--but quite fascinating. I need to go study, so in the meantime, remember you are fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God--clearly not something to be taken lightly, or for granted. God bless you all!
