My dad took this picture when we went down to Kawagoe, an old city
near Tokyo. A lot of the historical buildings are preserved and used
for stores and such. It was quite an interesting trip, to say the
least. Some of the buildings we visited were used for cutlery stores
and theaters. We even got to visit a museum where there were real
katanas (swords) and rifles that were used centuries ago in wars (we
even got to hold them—there’s nothing like swinging a REAL katana
around, but I digress). This particular building is a restaurant that
has taken up store inside one of the old buildings. They serve
Japanese noodles called soba there. We ate lunch there, and it was one
of the best things I'd ever tasted.
