Thailand is a long, thin country located in the middle of South-East Asia—south of China and east of Laos and Cambodia. The capital of Thailand is Bangkok and its population is made up of 61 million people, the majority of which are Buddhist. The mountainous North, the fertile Central Plains, the semi-arid plateau of the Northeast and the peninsula south, characterized by many tropical beaches, make up Thailand’s topography. The above picture is of the bungalows we stayed in one night, while some TPS students and I were on a missions trip to Thailand. We were surrounded by the mountains and gorgeous landscapes that characterize much of Thailand. Although the sky is clear in the picture, we were blessed to be in Thailand during one of the dryer times of year, rather than the rainy season which runs from May to September. Bright, green-colored plants cover everything, and the climate is perfect for tropical plants such as orchids, bonsai trees, palm trees and ferns of different varieties, cactus and, of course, lots of fruit trees. Much of the mountain-sides are covered in evergreen trees. The bungalows we stayed in were made of thatch, supported by a bamboo frame and topped with a thatch or tin roof. How kind of God to give us such diversity of people and landscape so we can observe His awesome power throughout the entire world.
